Exciting collaboration between Prolock and Solines!
Solines supplies more than 5500 metres of pipe, with diameters of 139.7 mm and 152.4 mm for the Prolock plastic piling
For the Voorvliet and Montfoortse vaart quay improvement project, Solines supplied more than 5500 metre of pipe with diameters of 139.7 mm and Ø 152.4 mm
These pipes are used in combination with 300 metres of Prolock plastic piling. The plastic screen retains the soil and the often much longer piles ensure the firmness and rigidity of the total construction.
A Prolock piling has the huge advantage that its lifespan is estimated at 50 years, which is much higher than the lifespan of wood piling. In general softwood piles are used, but in the event of heavy duty barriers, steel pipes of various lengths are used.
Approx. 440 piles were fitted with a diameter of 139.7 x 6.0 mm and a pile length of 9 metres. 145 piles were fitted with a diameter of 152.4 x 10.0 mm and a pile length of 10.5 metres.
One of the reasons for allocating this assignment to Solines was the short delivery times. Where the various suppliers could not meet the required supplier obligations, Solines supplied the materials in the required steel quality, at the required length and within the proposed delivery time. Thanks to the many (inter)national contacts with various factories, all pipe dimensions could be produced in the required quality and length, all within short delivery times.
